JOURNEYS

No two are the same.

Every journey we build is its own. But every journey begins somewhere — a region, a mood, a reason for the trip. Below are six places our guests typically begin. Most use one as a spark, then take it somewhere else entirely. Yours, by the time we're done, will be its own.

WESTERN CAPE

The Cape Week

Pearl Valley, Arabella, Erinvale. The Western Cape's finest courses, played alongside the wine estates of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with mornings on the fairway and afternoons in cellars that don't typically take visitors. The tables at La Colombe, the Test Kitchen, Babylonstoren — and the kind of long, unhurried lunches the Cape was made for.

Built around mountains, vineyards, and the ocean, this is the most popular starting point for first-time guests. Many extend to the Eastern Cape for a round at St Francis Links, ranked fifth in the country.

GARDEN ROUTE

The Garden Route.

Five of South Africa's top-ranked courses along one of the world's most beautiful coastlines. Fancourt's Links and Montagu in George, Pinnacle Point on the cliffs at Mossel Bay, Pezula in the indigenous forest at Knysna. Played in sequence, this is the most complete week of golf the country offers.

Between rounds: oysters from the Knysna lagoon, the long drive along the coast, evenings at lodges that look out over the Indian Ocean. For the serious golfer who wants a top-ten course every other morning, this is the journey.

MPUMALANGA & NORTH WEST

Bushveld & Greens.

Leopard Creek above the Crocodile River, with elephants in the riverbed below the 13th green at sunrise. Gary Player at Sun City. The Lost City. Mornings on the course, afternoons on game drives, evenings at lodges where the bush comes to the boma.

Built for guests who want the round and the safari woven together rather than separated — the country at its most cinematic, with the kind of moments most travellers go to South Africa hoping for.

Five to seven nights. Built from Johannesburg or Hoedspruit.

GAUTENG

The Highveld Round.

Blair Atholl, ranked second in the country. Glendower, sixth. Royal Johannesburg's East Course. Three of South Africa's championship courses within an hour of each other, played from a base in Sandton or at a private estate north of the city.

Built for the business traveller who wants serious golf without the long internal flights — or for groups in Johannesburg already, looking for a properly curated week without leaving the highveld.

Four to six nights. Built from Johannesburg.

KWAZULU-NATAL

The Coastal North.

Durban Country Club, ranked eighth in the country. Zimbali, fourteenth. The subtropical north coast, where the Indian Ocean is warm year-round and the golf is played between Durban's heritage course and the modern resorts of Ballito.

Built for guests who want golf without the bush or the winelands — a different rhythm, a different climate, the most accessible week of the country's coastal courses.

Five nights. Built from Durban.
